Liz and Laura wait in the dinghy. Picture by Joy, a friend.
One of Liz's crazy techniques, steering by foot, while checking out the reef over the side with a mask.
Queen Angelfish (Holacanthus ciliaris)
Results of global warming? This is an example of coral bleaching. On the left, it is healthy, while on the right an algae has taken over. In the middle the remains of dead (bleached white) coral, soon to be overcome by the algae.
Anybody counting ?
Purplemouth Moray Eel.(Gymnothorax vicinus)
Nesting on the island were a family of Falcon. We are not bird experts, but based on the fact that they hunted other birds on the wing, we think its a falcon.
Another beach - another potluck meeting, something some cruisers find irresistable. You go there just before sunset, bring a dish, sample other peoples food and get devoured by bugs at sunset, then go back to the boat, and scratch all night long. We use our own homemade bug repellent. 49% Rubbing Alchohol, 49% Olive Oil, 2 % Citronella Oil, even keeps neigbours away!
Chirpa-chirpa-cheep-cheep! 3rd and 4th from left are Lauren and Ernie of yacht "Lauren Grace" We had last seen them in Georgetown, Bahamas in 2001. (see photos in 2001) Nice to see they're still out here.
